紹介するのはエリック・タブチのアルファベット・トラックです。トラックをベッヒャー以降のタイポロジーっぽくグリッド状に配置しているようにも見えるし、トラック背面に書かれている文字をグラフィックデザイン的に提示してるようにも見えます。というか両方の効果を狙ってるんだろうな。タイポロジー・ミーツ・タイポグラフィ。(サイトは今更新してる？ちらっと新作が見えたり。)。”TWENTYSIX ABANDONED GASOLINE STATIONS”

“everything is everything”はここ最近で一番衝撃を受けたビデオ(via shikakun)です。衝撃自体は柔らかく届くようなものだったのだけれど、作品自体を「あれはいったいなんだったんだろうか」とちょっと真剣に考えて受け止めたくなる作品でした。時間軸のなかで淡々と見せて行く感触の連続と、変わって行くオブジェクトとか、音や記憶する手触りとかが五感を刺激します。作家の田中功起さんはポッドキャストもしててそれを移動で聴いたりしています。

I heart Magazine
間が開いていたと思ったらI heart Magazineも無事創刊されてました。”i heart photograph”と同じ”i heart”を冠する雑誌がストリート写真がメインにするのが、かなり意表つかれました。25000枚の写真の中から選ばれた88枚が掲載されており、次号は2009年初頭にロモグラフィーをフィーチャーするとのこと。今後どうなって行くのか注目です。

Vintage Photographs
4ヶ月以上ぶりの更新です。プライベートや仕事などでバタバタしていたこともあるのですが、最近そのへんとは別に、こういう活動に時間を割いていかないとな、と改めて思っているところです。
というわけで、紹介するのは”Vintage Photographs”という写真サイトです、というか、歴史的な写真のアーカイブをLive Journalで更新するブログ。僕はこういう所謂古写真を見るのが好きなのですが、残るから古いというのではなく、常に時の折々で手に取られ、見つめられ、時には捨てられる可能性というのはある訳で、そういった古い写真たちのなかで、アーカイブされうるもの（捨てられず残っていくもの、さらに言うと見いだされるもの）の持つ一定のクオリティというのは確実にあるよなと、見ながら感じています。・・っと、ポストされる写真は結構雑多です。

Radioheadが昨年リリースした”In Rainbows”から新しいミュージックビデオを公開しました。Geometric Informaticsというレーザーを投射して3Dデータを生成する技術とVelodyne LIDARという複数のレーザーを投射して風景をモデリングする技術をつかっているようです。ビデオで用いられているデータ(CSV)やProcessingのコードもGoogle Code上で公開されていて誰でも使うことができます。

最近webサイトでもFLVを効果的に使ったものが多くなってきていますが、IKEAのスペシャルサイト”The Complete Bedroom”もその一つで、映像の編集の仕方が秀逸です。日常生活の忙しさをカットアップによる映像/音の速度感で表現しつつ、それが高速度撮影によるラグジュアリー(あえて使いますが)な映像表現＋スロー／ミディアムテンポの音楽との絶妙な対比へとつながっています。

5 Days Off: Frozen - a set on Flickr
写真/映像というカテゴリーではないですが、タイムベーストなオーディオ情報を可視化するという試みで、面白かったのでこの作品は紹介します。
写真は、Marius Watzというアーティストのflickrにまとめられているフォトセットからピックアップした彫刻的な作品。フォトセットは“Frozen: 5 Days Off” というアムステルダムで行われているサウンド・イベントと同時開催の展示で設置されている作品のアーカイブのようです。説明によると、オーディオビジュアルなライブパフォーマンスではない手法で、音を可視化するのが目的とのこと。レーザーでカットされたガラスの断面は、すごく奇麗。触ると切れそうそうですけど。

Nacho Alegre はスペイン、バルセロナ在住のフォトグラファー、写真にもあるようにmoleskineの手帳に写真を貼ったりしたブックをそのまま写真に撮ってポートフォリオサイトにアップしています。写真自体の質というよりも、プリントやそれを束ねたポートフォリオそのものの持っている物質性がすごく浮き彫りになるような感じで、すごくいい。もともとファッションとか、Vitra社のインテリアの撮影なんかをやっていたみたいで、最近刊行された”Apertamento Magazine”のアートディレクションもやっているみたいです。
Nacho Alegre is a photographer lives in Barcelona, Spain. 妄撮 モーサツ
話題になっている写真集『妄撮』を紹介します。中学生男子の妄想を可視化するというコンセプトで制作されたそうで、写真はグラビア・アイドルやモデルの写真を、服を着た状態と下着(or水着)のカットを同ポジで撮影して、部分を破いたような処理をしています。撮影はTommyという人で、以前は主にファッション・フォトグラフィーで活躍するLeslie Keeのアシスタントをやってたそうです。中学生的な猥雑さというか下心が強調されつつも、どこか上品さを失っていないのはその辺のテクニックが効いているからじゃないでしょうか。
